Freeway Golf Course is home to three Golf Clubs who, for over 40-years have called the golf course home. Club’s offer their members with a range of benefits including an official Golf Australia Handicap and regular competition play. Enquiries for membership to these Clubs may be directed via the contact form.

The Camberwell Golf Club was founded in 1979 and has operated out of the Freeway Golf Course since its inception.  The Club is delighted to be returning to Freeway after its temporary closure for redevelopment and believes that this opens an exciting new chapter in the Club’s history.

The Club conducts competitions every Monday (mixed event), Wednesday (ladies), Saturday (men’s) and Thursday (men’s).  Monthly medal rounds are held the first Monday of the month and there are numerous special events held throughout the year, including the President’s Trophy and the Club Championships. The Club also fields two teams which compete in the Victorian Golf League’s Pennant Competitions giving team members the opportunity to play competitive golf at various courses in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

The Club welcomes golfers of all abilities and competitions are graded to ensure that all members can actively participate.

The Club is affiliated with the Victorian Golf League and Golf Australia. Members of the Club receive an official handicap which enables them to play in competitions anywhere in Australia.

The Club’s rooms at Freeway Golf Course are licensed and offer members the opportunity to relax with a refreshing beverage after the game.

The Harp Golf Club was established by a diverse group of interested golfers in 1983 in order to provide an opportunity for social golf played not only at its home course but also at other premier public golf courses on Sunday mornings.

The club is a member of the VGL and can provide an official golfing handicap for those new to golf, along with golf link membership.

The club welcomes both men and women who enjoy the challenge and the camaraderie offered by a social golf club. Playing groups which include both men and women are drawn randomly each week so that all members have an opportunity to play with each other; this also has the benefit of allowing new members to meet and get to know existing members within a short period of time.

Following our home games, we have lunch in the club rooms at the course prior to the Presidents update of any relevant matters and the Captain’s presentation of prizes. A few laughs can always be guaranteed at the 19th!

The club runs A, B & C grade competitions and welcomes golfers of any level. Many of our current members were new to the game of golf when joining the club and have progressed through to higher grades as their handicaps have improved.

The Harp Golf Club has enjoyed a great relationship with Freeway golf course management over a number of years, benefitting from an easy and friendly interaction with the Pro shop which facilitates a great golfing experience.

Whether you are an experienced golfer or a learner wishing to develop your skills, we encourage you to try us out. We look forward to hearing from you.

The Camberwell Ladies Golf Club commenced in June 1979 after an 18 hole course was constructed on the north side of the freeway. This is known as Freeway Golf Course, which is located at Columba Street, Balwyn North.

Our Club offers a warm, friendly and relaxed environment as we share our love of golf.  Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player you will learn and develop golf skills while sharing an enjoyable morning with like-minded ladies.

18 and 9 hole competitions are played every Wednesday morning and there is also an 18 and 9 hole mixed competition every Monday morning with the Men’s Club.

Our weekly competitions involve a variety of games such as Stableford, Ambrose, 4BBB and Stroke as well as our annual Trophy competitions such as Club Championship, Foursomes, Captain’s Trophy and more.

Fun events include Picnic Day, Spring Fun Day and Charity Day.  We also have a pennant team and play in all VGL events as well as any Bowls or Salvers held by other clubs.  Of course, there is our annual getaway where lots of fun is had.

We offer affordable membership fees and golf in order to play socially and competitively all year round.  There is no need to have an existing handicap to join.  You will obtain a handicap while playing with us.

Camberwell Golf Club is affiliated with Golf Link.  All members are assigned a Golf Link number that links you to the national handicap network. Members have full registration and insurance with the VGL.

Camberwell Ladies Golf Club looks forward to welcoming any new members.
